Bridal Shower Catering and Brunch Catering by Crushed Ice Catering
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve dreamed of my Wedding. What girl hasn’t? Growing up, my Sisters and I played Barbie’s incessantly –Our Michael Jackson Doll and Barbie Doll must have gotten married at least 20 times in our basement. As I got older, dreams turned into goals, and reality set in. However for me, my wedding dreams extended far beyond finding the perfect guy or the actual wedding. As an event planner for Crushed Ice Catering and the Ice House in Louisville, KY, I’ve realized every big occasion is better celebrated with smaller events leading up to them; it must be the anticipation – Having a Baby? Have a Babymoon! Graduating? Throw a Party!
I now have the opportunity for the first time in my life, to be on the flip-side. Now, I am the Blushing Bride-to-be. These are MY events leading up to “The Event”. I no longer dreamed of just my wedding day, but now I’ve dreamed of the champagne brunch bridal shower I’ve planned in my head or the Vegas Bachelorette Weekend with my girls (sorry, no blog post about that one…what happens in Vegas 😉
I have also learned as an event planner – it is important to have these precious memories captured, and to have the right team of professionals by your side. The Bride may only catch a small glimpse of what is happening at that moment in time, whereas a photographer can see many different angles, people, conversations and lighting that will not only be ingrained in guests’ memories – but now are physical photographs that can be displayed for many years to come. A caterer allows for the host and guests to relax, without the hassle of doing dishes, playing bartender or offering coffee with dessert – rather than asking “would you care for cream or sugar?” the host can ask the Bride “How are your wedding plans coming along?” (Don’t ask, unless you have a few hours).
As much as I resisted the urge to plan my own shower, eventually – my planning nature won. I knew exactly what I wanted and who to call on. I have a friend with a budding passion for photography who captured fleeting moments with my friends and family (photo creds: Morgan Newton). I have a wonderful catering team of culinary professionals who not only executed my request – but went far, far beyond my expectations. It is a rare thing in life to have people willing to drop everything to be there for you. Not only were my friends and family there to shower me with love, but my Crushed Ice Catering team was there as well. It is because of them, and their professionalism, experience and love – that I was able to sit back, and watch my childhood dreams turn into reality. I am beyond excited to share my experience with you!
When that day arrives for you, or your Best Friend, or your Sister – remember to have the right team of professionals by your side (hint, hint: Crushed Ice Catering and Morgan Newton). Cheers!
The Blushing Bride-To-Be,
Erica
